Hannah's Dance Recital!

Hannah had her annual dance recital on Saturday. She did a dance to the song, "It's Oh So Quiet". She did a tremendous job, and I'm not just being biased because I'm her mother. Her teacher put her right in the front in the middle because she knew the dance the best. As a sidenote, she's also caught the eye of her teacher and has been invited to dance with the competition team in the fall. She really loves it! The worst part of the recital was losing Porter after it was over. The entire auditorium at Roy High was jam-packed with people and Porter became separated from us as we were trying to leave. We were panicking and spread out to look for him, but there were literally hundreds of people trying to get out. After about 10 agonizing minutes, we found him by our car in the parking lot. Some nice gentleman saw him crying and stayed with him until we found him. That is one of my worst nightmares. It was awful. He's fine though, and we celebrated with a dinner out at Crown Burger, our personal favorite.

Camping Fun

Allen and Porter were able to go to the stake father and sons outing over the weekend. They reportedly had a great time together. There were lots of boys for Porter to run around with. While they were away, those of us left at home went shopping, out to dinner and watched Hairspray. It was a fun night for us also.

A Ride on Frontrunner

I was able to take the kids for a ride on Frontrunner a few days after it opened. There were a million people waiting to get in, but we were lucky enough to get one of the last seats open. We only rode from Roy to the Union Station in Ogden and back, but it was a lot of fun. The kids thought the train was super fast!

All Field Tripped Out!

In the past two weeks, I have been to the Dinosaur Park twice, the Treehouse Museum, and the zoo on field trips with both kids. That's enough bus riding to last me for the next few years at least. Unfortunately I forgot the camera on Hannah's field trip so I only have pictures of Porter's. Porter thought the warthogs shown in the first picture were ROUS's. If you've seen The Princess Bride then you know what he means. The cute little redhead in a couple of the pictures is his friend Autumn and she is a doll. Maybe they'll get married someday.

World's Pickiest Eater

So it just might be possible that we have the world's pickiest eater on our hands. It's gotten so bad that we an occupational therapist coming into our home twice a month to work with Tate on his eating skills. I've never seen a pickier baby than him. If it's not pasta, pizza, or french fries, he won't eat it. He won't even try a cheerio, fruit loop, macaroni and cheese, cheese, goldfish crackers, and the list goes on and on. Needless to say, we've been eating a lot of pasta at our home, but it's really starting to get old. Maybe this is payback for all the grief I gave my parents about food, of which I am truly sorry for.

Hogle Zoo

One of our favorite traditions is to go to the zoo over Spring Break. We drive down and pick up Allen from work and go to the zoo and then stop for dinner on the way home. It's always nice and cool and the animals seem to be really active when it's not so hot outside.

Happy Easter!

Easter morning was pretty crazy around our house. Allen and I had to speak in Sacrament meeting, which started at 1:00. That means Allen didn't start his talk until about 11:30. I also had to do sharing time that day, so we were running around like crazy trying to get there in time. We had done all of our easter egg hunt stuff the day before though, so I think that helped the kids focus on Easter more on Sunday. We had a good day though and as it turns out, there was only about three minutes left for Allen in sacrament meeting. So his procrastination turned out okay after all.
